The top three teams in HBCU football remain as BOXTOROW released the Coaches and Media Polls on Monday.

In the coaches poll, Jackson State’s loss to Alabama State created an opportunity for Tennessee State – and ASU –  to move into the No. 3 spot after its win over Norfolk State. The Tigers received one first place vote. No. 5 Alabama A&M made the most significant jump, up five spots from last week. ASU moved back into the poll at No. 9.

In the media poll, Virginia State’s loss to Elizabeth City State dropped the Trojans from No. 4 last week to No. 8 this week. Virginia Union now occupies the No. 4 spot. As a matter of fact, Tennessee State, Jackson State and Fayetteville State all moved up one spot from last week.

The HBCU FCS coaches and HBCU media polls are administered by BOXTOROW. The coaches poll, in its 15th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 17th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
