HBCU NFL Draft Chronicles: Decobie Durant

I’ve got a lot of respect for Aqeel Glass. I feel like this year, not just me and Aqeel but other guys at HBCUs, we make a change in the NFL Draft. Last year, zero HBCU players were drafted. I feel like this year, we’re going to be the difference. Not only are we going to open up doors for ourselves, but guys coming out the years behind us. This year’s draft class is the one that will make history.

South Carolina State cornerback Decobie Durant is supremely confident. After surrendering the only touchdown Jackson State scored in the Celebration Bowl, he and the Bulldog defense shut down the Tigers en route to the victory and the HBCU national championship. Durant talks with Donal Ware about his career at SCSU, the game against Clemson where he had two interceptions, participating in the NFL Combine, and preparation for the NFL.
