With the Women’s Final Four right around the corner, BOXTOROW announces its All-Americans for the 2021-22 Division I women’s basketball season.
Jackson State center Ameshya Williams-Holliday was named BOXTOROW HBCU Player of the Year for the second straight season. Williams-Holliday led the SWAC in scoring (19.2), rebounding (11.4, 13th in the country), field goal percentage (.577, 15th in the country), and blocked shots (2.7, ninth in the country). She is also tied for sixth in the nation in double doubles (22) and had a stretch where she recorded a double double in 12-straight games. She had a 31-point, 21-rebound performance in a 66-62 loss to Arkansas (12/9/21).
Jackson State head coach Tomekia Reed was named BOXTOROW Coach of the Year, also for the second straight season. In her 4th season at the helm, she led the Tigers to a 23-7 record, the fourth straight winning season for the program. The Tigers went undefeated in SWAC play (18-0) and also won the SWAC Tournament championship for the second year in a row. JSU earned a No. 14 seed in the NCAA Tournament, giving LSU all it could handle before falling late, 83-77.
