The HBCU Polls: Top four remain the same, four slide in; JSU remains No. 1

Jackson State is a perfect 10-0 and the No. 1 team in HBCU football with the release of the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls on Monday. The Tigers are the unanimous No. 1

In the coaches poll, nine of the teams in the poll won games. No. 5 Southern and No. 6 Prairie View A&M all moved up a spot from last week, while No. 8 Texas Southern moved up two spots. No. 9 Alcorn State and No. 10 Howard both reentered the poll.

In the media poll, the top five remained the same from last week. After defeating Chowan in the CIAA championship game, No. 7 Fayetteville State made the most significant jump, up three spots from last week. No. 9 PVAMU and No. 10 Southern reentered the poll.

The HBCU FCS coaches and media polls are administered by BOXTOROW. The coaches poll, in its 13th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 15th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
