Coaches say Benedict repeats

HBCU D2 Coaches Poll: Teams in postseason at top of poll, Benedict No. 1

Benedict defeated Tuskegee in the SIAC championship to remain No. 1 in The HBCU Division II Coaches Poll powered by BOXTOROW. The Tigers were a unanimous selection.

Fayetteville State, who defeated Chowan in the CIAA championship game, is No. 2 and moved up one spot from last week. No. 3 Virginia Union completed its regular season last two weeks ago, but like Benedict and Fayetteville State, was selected for the NCAA Division II playoffs.

Fayetteville State and Virginia Union changing positions was the only movement in the poll. All other teams remained the same and in the same positions from last week.

The next poll will be released Tuesday, December 20.
