[/insert_php]When voting on polls, sometimes the evidence is just so overwhelming in cases where voters rank teams. So is the case with North Carolina A&T who is the unanimous No. 1 in week two of the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls.
The Aggies defeated FBS opponent Kent State 39-36 in quadruple overtime in Kent, OH on Saturday.
There are also times when even when a team loses, if they play up a division and do well, they are rewarded. Such is the case for Grambling in the coaches poll, as the Tigers were leading Pac-12 opponent Arizona 21-3 at halftime on Saturday before falling 31-21. The Tigers actually moved up one spot from last week to No. 3 this week.
The most significant jump was made by Tennessee State who is at the No. 4 position after sitting at No. 9 last week.
Meanwhile in the media poll, all of the teams from last week remained in the poll, but the order changed a bit. Grambling, Tennessee State and Tuskegee all moved up one spot, while Virginia State moved up two spots from last week.
North Carolina A&T and Alcorn State remained No. 1 and No. 2 while Prairie View A&M, North Carolina Central and South Carolina State all lost to FBS opponents and fell one spot. Bethune-Cookman lost to North Texas and fell two spots.
The BOXTOROW HBCU FCS coaches poll and the media poll are administered by FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW. The coaches poll is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
