Averaged 26.0 points, 7.0 assists, 3.0 steals, and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 58 percent from the field and 62 percent from three points range (8-of-13) in helping lead the Hornets to a 2-0 record last week. He had season highs in points (31), assists (10), and steals (5), while grabbing four rebounds and making 8-of-11 field goals and 5-of-6 three-pointers in the Hornets’ victory over MEAC-leading Norfolk State (3/2).

Tavarez’s 107 assists is tied for second in the MEAC and his 55 steals is third. As a true freshman, he is averaging 13.2 points per game. He prepped at Academy of the New Church in Delaware.
