The HBCU Polls: NCCU Eagles separate themselves

The North Carolina Central Eagles continue to show why they are the top team in HBCU football. In a matchup of two nationally ranked FCS team, the Eagles defeated Elon and have separated themselves in both the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls.

In the coaches poll, the Eagles received all but one first place vote, that vote going to No. 2 Florida A&M. Jackson State, Alcorn State and Howard round out the top five, with Alcorn making the most significant jump from No. 9 last week to No. 4

In the media poll, the Eagles received two less first place votes last week than FAMU, but outpointed the Rattlers. This week, the Eagles received all but three first place votes. FAMU, Benedict, Jackson State, and Virginia State all remained in the same order from last week.

The HBCU FCS coaches and media polls are administered by BOXTOROW. The coaches poll, in its 15th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 17th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
