BOXTOROW Polls: JSU on top in HBCU football, N.C. A&T 89-straight week streak ends

It’s no surprise that Jackson State remains the No. 1 team in HBCU football as the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls were released on Monday. The Tigers are a unanimous selection. The North Carolina A&T Aggies fell to 3-5 after their loss to Monmouth on Saturday and fall out of the polls for the first time since 2013.

In the coaches poll, Alcorn State fell four spots to No. 7 after its loss to Southern. The Jaguars reentered the poll at No. 9. No. 3 Florida A&M, No. 4 Norfolk State, No. 5 Tennessee State, and No. 6 Alabama A&M all won and moved up one spot. The Delaware State Hornets reentered the poll at No. 10.

In the media poll, Bowie State wrapped up the CIAA Northern Division with its win over Lincoln (Pa.) and received its highest ranking of the season at No. 4. Southern is back in the poll at No. 10.

The BOXTOROW HBCU FCS coaches and media polls are administered by FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW. The coaches poll, in its 12th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 14th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
