The Alabama A&M Bulldogs remained the No. 1 team in HBCU football as both the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls were released on Monday.
While the Bulldogs received 10 first place votes, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Southern received three first place votes a piece and are No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. UAPB defeated Mississippi Valley State 24-17 while Southern, coming off a 34-14 victory over Jackson State, edged out No. 4 Prairie View A&M by one point.
In the media poll, three points separated the Bulldogs and UAPB. The Bulldogs received 11 first place votes while the Golden Lions received four.
The BOXTOROW HBCU FCS Coaches Poll, and the BOXTOROW Media Poll is administered by FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW. The coaches poll, in its 12th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 14th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
