Spartans’ forward Kris Bankston is HBCU National Player of the Week. He averaged 22.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.5 blocks, shot 82 percent from the field (18-of-22), and 90 percent from the free throw line (9-of-10) for the Spartans who went 2-0 last week. In the Spartans’ win over Morgan State (2/18), he scored 23 points, grabbed nine rebounds, blocked five shots, and made 9-of-11 field goals.

Bankston is fourth in the country in Division I in field goal percentage (.696) and is averaging 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds. He was second team All-MEAC last season.
