With the women’s basketball season officially over, BOXTOROW releases its annual All-America Teams.
Grambling guard Shakyla Hill was named BOXTOROW National Player of the Year. She was the only player in the top 10 in the SWAC in scoring (16.8 points per game, 4th), rebounding (7.5 rebounds per game, 3rd), assists (5.7 assists per game, 1st), steals (4.8 steals per game, 1st) and field goal percentage (.459, 5th). She made national headlines by recording a quadruple double scoring 15 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, handing out 10 assists and grabbing 10 steals in Grambling’s 93-71 victory over Alabama State on January 3.
Last year, Hill was named First Team BOXTOROW All-America and two years ago as a freshman was a second team selection.
North Carolina A&T head coach Tarrell Robinson was named BOXTOROW Coach of the Year. In his sixth season at the helm, he led the Lady Aggies to a 23-9 record and a share of the MEAC regular season title and led them to their second MEAC Tournament championship title in three year and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
