[/insert_php]North Carolina A&T remains atop the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls. The defending BOXTOROW champions received 19-of-20 first-place votes in the coaches poll to lead No. 2 Grambling by 29 points. The Tigers received the other first-place vote.
As a matter of fact the top four teams from last week remained the same with idle Tennessee State at No. 3 and Prairie View A&M, who beat Mississippi Valley State 56-21, at No. 4. Southern moved up two spots after defeating Alabama A&M 59-21 and rounds out the top five.
For the first time in six years, Bethune-Cookman is not ranked in the poll. The Wildcats were upset by Savannah State 16-10 in overtime and are winless on the season. SSU received some points, but the victory for the Tigers was just their third MEAC win since joining the conference in 2011.
Also of note, Texas Southern has won two-straight including a 31-27 victory over Alabama State and enters the poll for the first time since November 10, 2014 at No. 9.
In the media poll, despite its loss to Savannah State and remaining winless on the season, B-CU managed to hang in the poll, tied for No. 10 with South Carolina State who got its first win of the season, defeating
