The HBCU Polls: Jackson State unanimous No. 1 in HBCU football for the first time

For the first time this season, the Jackson State Tigers received all first place votes in both the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls and remains No. 1 in HBCU football.

In the coaches poll, No. 2 North Carolina Central retained its spot despite its loss at Campbell on Saturday. The only movement in the poll pertained to Florida A&M and South Carolina State, who switched places from last week and sit at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively.

In the media poll, NCCU fell to No. 5, while No. 2 Albany State and No. 3 Virginia Union moved up one spot from last week. Benedict defeated Fort Valley State on the road on Saturday and enters the poll for the first time this year at No. 8. The Tigers remain undefeated on the season.

The HBCU FCS coaches and media polls are administered by BOXTOROW. The coaches poll, in its 13th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 15th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
