The HBCU Polls: Jackson State wins SWAC, remains No. 1 in HBCU football

There wasn’t much movement from the Week 12 BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls and  Jackson State remains No. 1 in HBCU football and undefeated after its victory over Southern in the SWAC championship game.

In the coaches poll, North Carolina Central moved up one spot from the last poll to No. 2, tied with Florida A&M. No. 6 Prairie View A&M and No. 7 Alabama State switched places.

In the media poll, Benedict dropped two spots to No. 4 this week.

The Celebration Bowl matchup between North Carolina Central and Jackson State on December 17 will help decide the HBCU national championship. The HBCU national champion will be named with the release of the final BOXTOROW HBCU FCS coaches and media polls on Monday, December 19.

The HBCU FCS coaches and media polls are administered by BOXTOROW. The coaches poll, in its 13th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 15th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
