BOXTOROW Goes One on One Podcast: Nate McMillan

The Indiana Pacers currently sit in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

That’s not good enough for first-year Paces head coach Nate McMillan.  In his 13th season as an NBA head coach, McMillan has had some success in the league.  As a player he was a two-time All-Defensive second team selection during his 12 years in the NBA, all with the then Seattle Supersonics.

McMillan has tried to implore his lunch-pale mentality on this talented Pacers squad led by one of the league’s best players, Paul George.  More recently, as the Pacers had literally won then lost every game over a 14-game stretch before losing two-straight then winning their last game, 107-94 victory over Philadelphia, McMillan has preached consistency and playing the game the “right way.”

McMillan sat down with BOXTOROW host Donal Ware to talk about the Pacers, another chance as head coach in the NBA, his days growing up in and fondness for Raleigh, NC, helping lead NC State to two Elite Eight appearances and playing for Jimmy V and his time at then Chowan Junior College (now Chowan University).
