There were a few mild upsets in Week 9 which caused shifts in both the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls.

Tennessee State fell to OVC foe Murray State and dropped three spots to No. 6 in the coaches poll.  TSU’s drop caused both North Carolina Central and Southern to move up one spot each to No. 3 and No.4, respectively.

North Carolina A&T remained the unanimous No. 1 while Grambling was the unanimous No. 2.

Hampton’s 28-26 victory over South Carolina State allowed for the Pirates to reenter the poll at No. 7.  South Carolina State dropped to No. 8.

In the media poll, The Aggies and Tigers remained No. 1 and No.2 with A&T receiving all but two first-place with those going to Grambling.  South Carolina State dropped out of the poll as Bowie State reentered at No. 10 after a two-week hiatus.

The BOXTOROW HBCU FCS coaches poll and the media poll are administered by FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW.  The coaches poll is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
