The top three teams remained the same in the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls, which includes Florida A&M leading the pack despite the Rattlers having a bye week. FAMU made history last week by sitting atop the polls for the first time in the 12-year history of the media poll and 10-year history of the coaches poll.

In the coaches poll, the Rattlers received all but one first place vote. The next six teams ranked in the poll all won, including No. 3 Alcorn State with a win over defending two-time SWAC champion Grambling for the first time since 2015. With the loss, the Tigers dropped five spots to No. 9. No. 10 North Carolina Central reentered the poll after defeating Norfolk State, who dropped out of the poll.

In the media poll, Morehouse surged once again after its win on the road against Benedict and is No. 4 behind Florida A&M, North Carolina A&T and Alcorn State. Tennessee State defeated Tennessee Tech and rounds out the top five.

The BOXTOROW HBCU FCS coaches poll and media poll are administered by FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW.  The coaches poll is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
