As Florida A&M handled Morgan State to win its second straight game and stay atop both the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls, it was South Carolina State’s victory over Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach that caused movements in the polls.

In the coaches poll, the No. 4 Bulldogs moved up two spots, and forced the Wildcats to drop from No. 2 to No. 5 this week. No. 2 Alcorn State and No. 3 North Carolina A&T – both getting victories at home, including the Braves win over No. 6 Southern who dropped one spot – each moved up one spot.

In the media poll, Alabama A&M’s three-overtime victory over Alabama State in the Magic City Classic in Birmingham propelled the Bulldogs back into the top 10 at No. 8. No. 4 Bowie State remains undefeated and moved up one spot after knocking off previously ranked Virginia Union. Virginia State also entered the poll for the first time this year.
