The impending Celebration Bowl in Atlanta on December 21 now matches what the coaches and media in the BOXTOROW Polls have been saying for the last several weeks.
That Alcorn State is No. 1 and North Carolina A&T is No. 2 with the coaches. Also that North Carolina A&T is No. 1 and Alcorn State is No. 2 with the media.
If history is any indicator, for the fifth straight year the Celebration Bowl with decide the HBCU national championship.
The Braves punched their ticket to Atlanta for the second straight year on Saturday by defeating Southern in the SWAC championship game in Lorman, MS. The Braves will play North Carolina A&T for the second straight year and for the third time in the five years of the bowl.
With the loss to Alcorn, the Jaguars fell one spot to No. 5 in the coaches poll and No. 6 in the media poll.
The final BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls will be released on Monday, December 23.
The BOXTOROW HBCU FCS coaches poll and media poll is administered by FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW. The coaches poll, in its 11th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 13th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
