Meet Juan Dixon: Former Maryland star and UDC women’s basketball coach talks to BOXTOROW

Juan Dixon is the all-time leading scorer in University of Maryland basketball history.  He led the Terrapins to the national title in 2012.

He played nine years in the NBA, first with the Washington Wizards who drafted hm 17th overall in the 2002 NBA Draft.  He spent three years as a special assistant to Maryland head coach Mark Turgeon before being named UDC head women’s basketball coach on October 17.

Dixon appeared as a guest on FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW w/ Donal Ware last week and set the record straight about what happened while special assistant at Maryland, why he took the job at UDC, Maryland’s move to the Big Ten, as well as about his childhood and playing days at UMD.
