Averaged 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and shot 83 percent from the free throw line in helping lead the Spartans to a 2-0 record last week. In the Spartans’ win at Coppin State (2/24), she recorded her 11th double double (second in the MEAC) scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. She also handed out four assists.
Norfolk State is ranked No. 17 in the Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Poll. Wheeler leads the MEAC in scoring (18.0) and field goal percentage (.529), is second in rebounding (9.9) and blocked shots (1.3), and is fifth in steals (1.8). Last week, she scored her 1,000th career point. She transferred into Norfolk State last year from Daytona State where she was FCSAA All-Central Conference First Team.
