The HBCU Polls: NCCU, FAMU remain tops

North Carolina Central remained the No. 1 team in HBCU football with the release of the HBCU Coaches and Media Polls which were released Monday.

In the coaches poll, the Tennessee State Tigers who were previously No. 3, lost and that loss created opportunities for both No. 3 Alcorn State and No. 4 Jackson State to move up one spot from last week. TSU dropped to No. 5. Prairie View A&M reentered the poll at No. 10.

In the media poll, North Carolina Central, Florida A&M, Benedict, and Virginia Union all won and kept the top four spots. The Alabama State Hornets have won four straight games, defeating Grambling most recently on Saturday and reentered the poll at No. 9.

The HBCU FCS coaches and HBCU media polls are administered by BOXTOROW. The coaches poll, in its 15th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 17th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
