For the second straight week, both North Carolina Central and Florida A&M remain No. 1 in HBCU football as The HBCU Coaches and Media Polls presented by BOXTOROW were released on Monday. Both teams won respective games on Saturday.

In the coaches poll, NCCU remains No. 1, as it has since the preseason. Florida A&M is No. 2. Of the 10 teams in the poll, seven won games this past week while the other three had byes. No. 8 Norfolk State, and Alabama A&M and Grambling, who are tied for No. 9, are all new to the poll this week.

In the media poll, FAMU remained No. 1 and received the majority of the first place votes. No. 2 North Carolina Central received four less first place votes than the Rattlers and is three points behind FAMU.

The HBCU FCS coaches and media polls are administered by BOXTOROW. The coaches poll, in its 15th year is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll, in its 17th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
