HBCU NFL Draft Chronicles: Aqeel Glass

Oh yeah, of course. As a competitor and player I feel like my body of work speaks for itself. At the end of the day, God has a plan. I just took it as a chip on my shoulder, put an extra little chip on my shoulder and got back to work.

-Alabama A&M quarterback Aqeel Glass on not receiving an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine.

Alabama A&M quarterback has always had a chip on his shoulder. Not highly recruited from Lutheran High School North in St. Louis, Glass took his talents to Huntsville, where he had an immediate impact, throwing for close to 1,200 yards in just nine games. Over the next two years he would become one of the elite quarterbacks in the SWAC and by his senior year was the best and one of the best in the country. He threw for over 12,000 yards in his career, which is top 15 all-time in FCS history, threw for 109 touchdowns. He showed very well at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and could be the first quarterback drafted from an HBCU since Tarvaris Jackson was taken by the Vikings in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft. Glass talked with Donal Ware about preparing for the NFL, accomplishments at Alabama A&M, and about what he needs to improve on.
