Jaguars guard Brion Whitley is HBCU National Player of the Week. He averaged 23.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, shot 63 percent from the field (15-24), and 62 percent (9-of-16) from three-point range for the Jaguars who went 2-0 last week. In the Jaguars’ 80-60 victory over Alcorn State (1/28), Whitley scored 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting and 7-of-12 from three point range. The Jaguars are now in sole possession of first place in the SWAC.

Whitley is averaging 12.8 points per game and is in his first season with the Jaguars. He is a transfer from Murray State.
