Rod Broadway went out on top as a college football coach. He led North Carolina A&T to the Black college national championship and a perfect 12-0 season in 2017. He is now retired and living at the beach. He may be retired as a football coach, but not as an advocate for student-athletes. Donal Ware sat down for a candid three-part conversation with the only coach to lead three different schools to a Black college national championship (A&T, Grambling, North Carolina Central) and talked about the killing of unarmed Black men, his time at NCCU, GSU, and A&T, how he almost accepted the head coach job at Old Dominion, about whether he felt slighted by not being a head coach at and FBS program, and about his days coaching with Steve Spurrier, including at Florida where they won the national championship in 1996.
