The Benedict Tigers have made it six straight weeks as the No. 1 team in the HBCU Division II Coaches Poll powered by BOXTOROW, dating back to last season

The Tigers received all but one first place vote, the other first place vote going to another undefeated team, Tuskegee. As a matter of fact, there are a total of five undefeated teams in the poll through three weeks. The top eight teams in the poll remained the same from last week.

No. 9 Allen, one of the undefeated teams, remains in the poll for the second straight week and moves up one spot from last week. Johnson C. Smith enters the poll for the first time this season and is tied with Central State for the No. 10 spot.
