Conversation with Isaiah Land.
…I was a little nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. I never got a chance to play against all the FBS players all at once. Once I got on the field, it let me know I belong on this level…
Isaiah Land on participating in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Former now Florida A&M linebacker/defensive end Isaiah Land had an eye-popping 2021 season. The Buffalo native led FCS in sacks (19) and tackles for loss (25.5) on his way to winning the Buck Buchanan Award for the best defensive player in FCS and the Willie Davis Defensive Player of the Year given to the best defensive player in HBCU football.
Then came to 2022. With high expectations, Land and other FAMU players were sidelined to start the season, being deemed ineligible due to not being certified correctly. It cost Land an opportunity to play against a Power 5 opponent in North Carolina. Despite playing in only eight games, Land managed 11.5 tackles for loss and sacks. He was again named to the HBCU All-America team.
Land sits down with Donal Ware to talk about his journey to this point and preparation for the National Football League.
