- No. 5 South Carolina State defeated Delaware State and No. 6 Hampton knocked off defeated Elon, but both teams flip flopped spots from last week
- Florida A&M defeated SWAC Western Division leading Southern and was the only team other than North Carolina Central to receive a first place vote
