Takeaways from Week 8’s HBCU FCS Coaches Poll:

  • North Carolina Central remains No. 1 in HBCU football
  • With its win over previous No. 2 Florida A&M, Jackson State leapfrogged Tennessee State for the No. 2 spot; TSU remains No. 3
  • FAMU drops to No. 4
  • Hampton beat North Carolina A&T in CAA play and rounds out the top five
  • Alcorn State’s loss to Gramling dropped the Braves three spots to a tie for No. 8 (Alabama State); GSU reenters the poll at No. 10
  • Howard loss to TSU and dropped out of the poll

The HBCU FCS Coaches Poll is administered by BOXTOROW, and in its 16th year, is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches.
