Takeaways from Week 11’s HBCU FCS Coaches Poll:

  • Jackson State is No. 1 for the second straight week; has won its last six including Saturday over Mississippi Valley State
  • No. 2 South Carolina State received six first place votes this week
  • No. 3 Tennessee State (tied for No. 3 with North Carolina Central) and No. 5 Southern both moved up two spots
  • Defending HBCU national champion Florida A&M fell to unranked Prairie View A&M and fell three spots to No. 6
  • Alcorn State defeated Texas Southern and reentered the poll at No. 9
  • Howard fell to SCSU and dropped out of the poll

The HBCU FCS Coaches Poll is administered by BOXTOROW, and in its 16th year, is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches.
