Takeaways from Week 11’s HBCU FCS Coaches Poll:
- Jackson State is No. 1 for the second straight week; has won its last six including Saturday over Mississippi Valley State
- No. 2 South Carolina State received six first place votes this week
- No. 3 Tennessee State (tied for No. 3 with North Carolina Central) and No. 5 Southern both moved up two spots
- Defending HBCU national champion Florida A&M fell to unranked Prairie View A&M and fell three spots to No. 6
- Alcorn State defeated Texas Southern and reentered the poll at No. 9
- Howard fell to SCSU and dropped out of the poll
