Bowie State looks to take full control of North, meets Virginia Union

Bowie State Quarterback Amir Hall 6-4, 180, Sophomore, Bowie, Md. Completed 25-of-36 passes for 332 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed for another touchdown as the Bulldogs defeated Virginia State 38-37. Presented by North Carolina Mutual

News and Notes from Week 7: Hall and Bowie State, Tennessee State continue to roll
The Bowie State Bulldogs passed major tests in back-to-back weeks, more recently defeating CIAA Northern Division rival Virginia State 38-37 on homecoming in Bowie, Md. Virginia State, Bowie State battle to remain in control of CIAA North
BOXTOROW National Game of the Week 8 Virginia State (5-1, 2-1) at Bowie State (4-2, 3-0) Last year’s meeting between Bowie State and Virginia State at VSU’s homecoming went a long way to deciding the CIAA Northern Division. BSU won the game 22-19 on a touchdown pass and catch with :40 remaining in the game.

National Player of the Week: D. J. Johnson
Saint Augustine’s Quarterback D.J. Johnson 5-10, 175, Sophomore, Richmond, Va. Completed 19-of-35 passes for 244 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns in the Falcons 38-37 double-overtime victory over Livingstone.
