Jackson State Guard Venjie Wallis

6-6, Junior, Houma, Louisiana

Averaged 17.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in three wins last week for the Tigers. In the Tigers win over Alabama A&M, Wallis led the team with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting, and six rebounds.

The three victories in a row helped propel Jackson State to a No. 3 seeding in this week’s SWAC Tournament in which it will host a first round game against Alabama State.

Wallis was originally a walk-on at University of New Orleans, then went to Delgado Community College in New Orleans before transferring to Jackson State for this season.
