Tennessee State Running Back Devon Starling

Carried the ball 26 times for 134 yards and a touchdown as the Tigers defeated UT-Martin 26-24. Straling broke a 65-yard touchdown run right before the first half ended to give the Tigers a 23-7 halftime lead. TSU held the advantage in time of possession over UT-Martin 32:14 to 27:46 as the Tigers accounted for 47 rushing attempts for 204 yards as a team with Starling receiving over half the carries.
Starling has rushed for more than 100 yards in back-to-back games. He has rushed for 514 yards on the season and leads the OVC in yards per game (102.8) and yards per carry (5.5). He was named the 2018 Tennessee Class 6A Mr. Football while at Cane Ridge High School.
