BOXTOROW National Co-Players of the Week: Jalon Jones and Antonio Zita

Jackson State Quarterback Jalen Jones
6-4, 220, Sophomore, Richmond, Va.

Completed 14-of-27 passes for 250 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown as the Tigers defeated Mississippi Valley State 43-7.

On the season Jones has completed 67 percent of his passes for 593 yards, has thrown eight touchdowns and no interceptions and has rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns. He is a former four-star recruit and originally signed with Florida before transferring to JSU for the 2019 season.

Tennessee State Kicker Antonio Zita
5-9, 170, Junior, Fayetteville, Tenn.

Connected on three-of-four field goals including a 62-yarder and the game-winning 35-yarder as time expired lifting the Tigers to a 21-20 victory over Eastern Illinois. Zita’s 62-yarder came with 4:10 remaining in the fourth quarter and put the Tigers ahead 18-17. He also connected on a 51-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter.

In 2019, Zita led the OVC in field goals per game (1.67) and connected on 20-of-24 field goals.
