North Carolina A&T track and field star Kayla White certainly doesn’t lack for confidence.
The senior from Miami, Fla. won the 200m and finished second in the 60m hurdles at the NCAA Division I Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala., March 8 and 9. For her performance, she was named NCAA Division I Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year.
White spoke with BOXTOROW host Donal Ware about winning the 200m and posting the fastest time this year of 22.63, not participating in the 60m, being an underdog, her statement, “I’m not just and HBCU sprinter, I’m one of the best in the nation,” as well as about her coach Duane Ross has pushed her.
