Grambling guard Shakyla Hill
5-7, Senior, Little Rock, Ark.
Generally, players have not won BOXTOROW National Player of the Week more than once in a season, let alone back-to-back weeks, but when something special is done, it’s a must. And Grambling guard Shakyla Hill has done something special.
Again.
After garnering two triple-doubles within a week of each other a few weeks back, Hill recorded a quadruple-double – the second of her career – in the Lady Tigers victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff last week. Hill scored 21 points, handed out 13 assists, grabbed 16 rebounds and had 10 steals. She becomes the first player – male or female – in NCAA history to record to career quadruple-doubles.
Hill is averaging 19.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.5 steals, and 6.1 assists per game. She leads the SWAC in points, assists, steals and minutes (35.2), is second in rebounding and second in the nation in steals. Hill is the reigning BOXTOROW National Player of the Year.
