Hurricane Florence caused many games to be postponed or canceled which caused limited movement in the BOXTOROW Coaches and Media Polls. North Carolina A&T had a bye week but was a unanimous pick in both polls.

In the coaches poll, Tennessee State remained No. 2, its game against No. 9 Hampton postponed. No. 3 Grambling was idle, while Alcorn State’s 27-15 win over Texas Southern (in a non-SWAC game), enabled the Tigers to move up one spot to No. 4.

In the media poll, Prairie View A&M made the most significant move, dropping three spots to No. 7 after falling to FBS opponent UNLV 46-17. Morehouse defeated Central State 41-14 and is off to the 3-0 start and enters the poll at No.9 for the first time since 2012.

The BOXTOROW HBCU FCS coaches poll and the media poll is administered by FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW.  The coaches poll is voted on by the HBCU Football Championship Subdivision coaches and the media poll is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
