Despite losses, Florida A&M and North Carolina Central remained the top two teams in HBCU football with the release of the HBCU Media Poll on Monday. There was quite a bit of movement in the poll.
The Howard Bison moved up one spot to No. 3 this week after its victory over Mercyhust. Alabama State defeated Miles and moved up a spot to No. 4, while Jackson State overwhelmed Lane and moved up two spots to No. 5.
No. 6 Virginia Union, No. 7 Tennessee State, No. 8 Virginia State, and No. 9 Morgan State all lost games Saturday, but remain in the poll from last week. No. 10 South Carolina State, who defeated The Citadel on Saturday, makes its debut into the poll this week.
The HBCU Media Poll is administered by BOXTOROW and in its 18th year, is voted on by media members around the country who cover HBCU football.
