Spartans guard Joe Bryant, Jr. is HBCU National Player of the Week. He averaged 23.5 points, 3.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, shot 68 percent from the field (15-of-22), and 64 percent (7-of-11) from three-point range for the Spartans who went 2-0 last week. In the Spartans’ victory over rival Hampton (2/4), Bryant scored 29 points on 9-of-13 shooting and 5-of-8 from three point range, and 6-of-6 from the free throw line. He also handed out five assists.

Bryant was the BOXTOROW HBCU Division I Player of the Year last year and is currently averaging 17.5 points per game, third in the MEAC.
