BOXTOROW will present its 12th annual draft show this weekend as six former HBCU football players will be guests on FROM THE
PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW w/ Donal Ware this weekend.
2016 BOXTOROW All-Americans Javancy Jones of Jackson State, Jessamen Dunker and Ezra Robinson of Tennessee State will be guests. Dunker and Robinson also participated in the NFL Scouting Combine in March.
Brandon Barnes of Alabama State, Javarius Leamon of South Carolina State and Grover Stewart of Albany State will also be guests on the program this weekend. Leamon was also a combine participant.
BOXTOROW National Offensive Player of the Year Tarik Cohen, who was presented his player of the year trophy at the North Carolina A&T Athletics Banquet on Monday, kicked off the Draft preview by appearing as a guest on BOXTOROW last weekend.
Other HBCU players, who have the potential to be drafted this weekend in the NFL Draft, may appear as well.
BOXTOROW began its draft show back in 2006 when current Cardinal and former Howard star Antoine Bethea, Super Bowl champion and former Alabama State star Tarvaris Jackson, and I-AA/FCS prolific quarterback Bruce Eugene of Grambling, all appeared on BOXTOROW two weeks before the 2006 NFL Draft.
Since then, these current players were all guests onBOXTOROW prior to the draft: Hampton’s Kendall Langford (Colts) and Chris Baker (Buccaneers); Winston-Salem State’s William Hayes (Rams); Stillman’s Junior Galette (Redskins); Bethune-Cookman’s Ryan Davis (Bills); Fort Valley State’s Marquette King (Raiders); Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s Terron Armstead (Saints); Alabama State’s Isaiah Crowell (Browns); Tennessee State’s Kadeem Edwards (Cowboys); Norfolk State’s Lynden Trail (Redskins); South Carolina State’s Javon Hargrave (Steelers) and Tamarrick Hemingway (Rams); and North Carolina Central’s Ryan Smith (Buccaneers).
